We have a very important meeting coming up this week in regards to our potential location in Grapevine. I pray that by this time next week we will be able to announce to the world where we will be located. Our launch date is September 7. With me being the only paid staff (I will be part time) we are praying for a host of other Christ-followers who are willing to take on leadership roles and join us in the search for the lost sheep.
Then Jesus told them this parable: "Suppose one of you has a hundred sheep and loses one of them. Does he not leave the ninety-nine in the open country and go after the lost sheep until he finds it? And when he finds it, he joyfully puts it on his shoulders 6and goes home. Then he calls his friends and neighbors together and says, 'Rejoice with me; I have found my lost sheep.' I tell you that in the same way there will be more rejoicing in heaven over one sinner who repents than over ninety-nine righteous persons who do not need to repent. (Luke 15)
This is one of my favorite stories in the Bible. Maybe because I remember what it was like to be that lost sheep. I fear that too many churches today have gotten focused on the 99 and forgotten the lost one. I pray that our church will always be passionately pursuing the one that is lost.
